My Animals
Here’s a section that shows the amimals that we currently have
Sydney – the bearded dragon
Sydney is a female bearded dragon which I bought in December 2019, she is approximately 4 1/2 years old. She is very friendly and loves to interact with people. She is very gentle, she loves to sit on your lap and eat rocket leaves! She comes out of her enclosure every day and likes to jump up on to the window ledge to have a look outside. As well as leaves, she likes to eat locusts, worms and crickets and she will eat out of your hand.
Blue – the ackie monitor lizard
Blue is my ackie monitor lizard which I bought in February 2021. He was born in December 2020 when fully grown he will reach approximately 24 – 28 inches Ackie monitors are very intelligent, they are interesting to watch and look like a small velociraptor! Blue likes to climb, jump, tunnel, explore and eat bugs, especially crickets.
Flash and Star – the leopard geckos
Flash and star are my female leopard geckos. They are sisters, born from the same clutch. We got the geckos in April 2018 and they are approximately 6 years old. Flash and Star are housed together and have been since hatching, They are very friendly, Star is yellow with black and purple spots and Flash is tangerine coloured with a spotty tail. Star is the bigger of the 2 but they both have good appetites, especially liking locusts and wax worms
Hendrix- the dalmation crested gecko
Hendrix is our male crested gecko (sometimes called the eyelash gecko). He is brown/cream in colour with black spots and velvet like skin and webbed sticky feet for climbing. He likes to jump and climb and likes to eat mashed banana and crickets. We have had Hendrix since September 2022 when he was 2 years old
Vapour – the common boa constrictor
I got vapour as a baby in May 2018 and he was just a few weeks old and the size of an earthworm! He is now 9 foot and over 32 lb in weight and is still growing . He likes to be handled and he is very friendly. Vapour loves to bask in the sunshine stretched out on the garden furniture
Ziggy – the jungle carpet python
Ziggy was born in Dec 2018, and we got him in Sept 2019 at approximately 10 months old. He was only about a foot long and very slender. He is now around 7 foot long and 10lb and thriving. He likes to climb on branches in his enclosure and will even eat hanging from a branch.
Tina- the horned frog (pacman frog)
We got Tina in October 2020 she was about 2 months old she will grow to around 8 inches long. Tina likes to burrow in the wet mud and she likes to sit in the water bowl. She has beautiful bright green colours with a very distinctive pattern. She likes to eat crickets, locusts, super worms and wax worms and anything else on offer!
Fang and Taco – the tarantulas
Fang is a Brazilian giant white kneed tarantula currently about 15cm and will grow bigger. She is quite active, roaming around her enclosure, webbing and grooming herself. She likes to eat super worms, crickets and locusts. Taco is a Mexican red knee tarantula, she is still only about 8 cm in diameter but will grow much bigger. She is friendly and likes to be held. Taco likes to eat super worms and crickets.
Jet – the asian forest scorpion
We got Jet in March 2019 but are not sure of her age exactly. She likes to eat super worms and crickets. She will hide in her log during the daytime and mainly come out at night. She likes to dig in the substrate. Jet is black to blend in with her forest surroundings.
ROD – the giant African bull frog
Rod is our latest addition, he is currently 15 cm but likely to grow a lot bigger. Females grow to 10-12 cm but males can reach 20-25 cm. Rod likes to burrow in the substrate or sit in the water dish. He likes to eat crickets and locusts and the occasional pinky mouse .
CLEOPATRA
The Brazillian rainbow boa. We bought cleo recently at the beginning of November 2022. She is now almost 2 years old. Her colourations are red, orange and mahogany brown with an iridescent sheen which is where the name rainbow comes from. She is eating rat fluffs and is happy to be handled.
ISABELLA
Isabella is a Tangerine Honduran milk snake. She is our most recent addition and she is only about 3 months old. She’s eating tiny pinky mice and is a little shy, she burrows in the subtrate. All of my animals are my pets so are handled regularly and you can read all about them on the ‘My animals’ section. I have 3 years experience in animal care from Rodbaston College and I have also volunteered at exotic zoo, Telford. My reptiles are all housed in a large garden building which we have adapted and insulated accordingly. There is room inside for 5 or 6 visitors at any one time. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Details can be found on the ‘reptile experiences’ page. I have an Animal Activity Licence a copy of which is displayed on site and also on this website, and full Public liability Insurance.
